Project Details
Donnybrook Garda Station is an imposing three storey building constructed with a granite stone façade. Oldstone Conservation were appointed as Main Contractor & PSCS to clean the building and repaint and repair all windows.
Works
The works required the building to be fully scaffolded leaving access for pedestrians at footpath level. The building remained a live Garda Station during the works. Window and door openings were covered with plastic protective sheeting during the cleaning works. In some areas the scaffold required tanking to prevent runoff to the public footpath below. The cleaning works were undertaken outside of normal working hours to minimise disruption to the public and Garda operations.
Minor repairs were completed to the timber sash windows to ensure they were fully operational. The interior and exterior surfaces of the timber windows were repainted throughout. The works were completed within a six-week period, with minimal disruption to the public and the building occupants. The resultant works produced a much needed clean to a previously dull exterior.
